Our busy August

August has been quite a month for us. Fr. John was in town for two weeks in the beginning of the month. Then one of my dearest friends, Ginny Schlater came to visit with her baby from Columbus, OH. We hadn't seen each other in three years, so we had a blast catching up. Three days later, the Rooney family came into town from Florida. They are also great friends from Stuebenville, and have three children. We spent the week up north with them. It was a wonderful time. The kids had so much fun with their friends, and so did me and Tom. It has been a great blessing to reconnect with our dear friends

Catherine, I love the pictures!

And, not to bum you out or anything, but are you gearing up for fall up there? When does it start getting cool near Minneapolis?

Love ya,

Cathy

Love these pictures! One of the great joys of my life has been spending time with our family friends, and enjoying the friendships of our children over the last three decades! How wonderful that you have friends with children close in age to your own, and everyone enjoys the visits so much. By the way, I can't wait to see you and Gemma in a few days! Love, mom

Hi Catherine,

We love the pictures, especially the first one of Gemma in the sunglasses. Cecilia and Rosie giggled and oohed and aahed. I reminded Rosie that Gemma is her little cousin. She declared that she knew that already!

Frederick and Jack are adorable as always. Looking at the pictures Cecilia remarked that, "Frederick really DOES look like Brennan." After her saying that I stared some more at the picture and could definitely see the resemblance.

Speaking of family resemblances, this past Monday we had some of the McDonnell family together at the park near Grammy's house. My mom had all of these old pictures and one of them was of you, Carolyn and Jen sleeping on her sleeper sofa. You were all pretty little, but the remarkable thing was that Jen looked EXACTLY like John Paul - no kidding. We passed the picture around and half the family thought it was John Paul.

I love you a lot, and miss you!

Love, Teresa

Cath- Very late to post but I wanted to anyway. Great pictures!
So happy you had a wonderful August. You deserve it as you gear up for the long winter. But I might add that I believe people who survive long cold winters develop much more character than the predominantly hedonistic cultures of warm weathered climates.
Just keeping it real!
Love and kisses to all (even Tom),
