Our busy August

August has been quite a month for us. Fr. John was in town for two weeks in the beginning of the month. Then one of my dearest friends, Ginny Schlater came to visit with her baby from Columbus, OH. We hadn't seen each other in three years, so we had a blast catching up. Three days later, the Rooney family came into town from Florida. They are also great friends from Stuebenville, and have three children. We spent the week up north with them. It was a wonderful time. The kids had so much fun with their friends, and so did me and Tom. It has been a great blessing to reconnect with our dear friends

Happy Birthday Monica Therese!

It is hard to believe little Monica Brown is already one. Monica is such a sweet little lady, and is truly a beautiful girl. We hope you have a wonderful first birthday, Monica, and wish we could celebrate with you! We love you!

Our Big Girl

Gemma loves to be up on her feet. So the other day, Tom got out the Johnny jump up, and she thought it was a greatest thing. I cant believe that she is already big enough to go in one of those. She is almost 4 months! It is hard to believe how quickly they grow.

Jack or Jackeline?

Last week we enjoyed an evening at Lake Harriet with Fr. John. We got ice cream, and walked around the lake. We passed the beach area and let the boys out to play thinking they would just play in the sand. Of couse not. Within minutes they were both in the water, and Jack immersed himself completely. He was wearing long pants and a shirt and got completely soaked in minutes. So I was not prepared for them to swim and had no extra clothes. The only shirt I had was a onsie that belonged to Gemma. So Jack spend the rest of the night in a bright pink onsie. He has such a cute little face, I think everyone mistook him for a girl. He looked pretty cute.

Of all the paths you take in life, make sure a few of them are dirt

The Bergs have this quote hanging by the front door of thier cabin, and I have always loved it. This bottom picture is of the dirt road that leads to their cabin, and it is always very exciting to see it after a long 4 hour car trip with the kids. They can recognize this road, and start shouting for joy when we make it here. I just wanted to share some shots of the sunsets on the lake, and the beauty of northern Minnesota.

Happy Birthday Mom!!

Hapy Birthday to Mom, one day late! I was going to write last night, but I sat down at 11:00 and had writer's block, so I decided bed would be a better place to be.
Mom, we love you and hope you had a wonderful birthday yesterday. We are so glad that the Browns are with you this weekend, and also that the Anthonies, Grandma and Charlie could visit as well. Thank you for being such a wonderful mother and grandmother to all of us.
We miss you and Dad like crazy!!!

Hightlights of the week

We just got back today from a fun- filled week at the Berg's cabin. Fr. John was in town from Switzerland, and so the whole family was together. It was such a enjoyable week for everyone, but it was especially fun for me to watch my boys have the time of their lives. The cabin is a magical place for the children - the fresh air, the deep woods, the gorgeous lake, and most importantly, Grandpa's 'gator' ( a John Deere four wheeler). Fishing is also now a favorite hobby for my family too. Here are some fun photos of our wonderful week.
