Our Anniversary

We had a delightful 5 year anniversary yesterday. Tom, Gemma and I went to a town called Stillwater that borders Minnesota and Wisconsin. It rests on the St. Croix river, and a beautiful town filled with quaint little shops, and wonderful eateries. We enjoyed a delicous meal overlooking the water. There were tons of boats on the water because it was a gloriously sunny day. Then we walked to a local winery and sipped wines. We finished our date with authenic Itialian gelato at a little Italian resturant. Needless to say it was a perfect date. My husband knows me well and what I enjoy because he planned the thing. More importantly than our date, I can say that after 5 years, Tom amazes more and more everyday, and I am more in love with him now than ever before. He is an incredible husband, father, and provider for our family. My favorite part of the day is watching my boys run to their Daddy's arms when he gets home from work. He is their hero, and mine as well.
Thanks for being the best, Tom. Love you so much.

Photos of Jack's birthday party

We celebrated Jack's birthday on Sunday with Tom's family in town. It was a wonderful "ball" party with a basketball, soccer ball, baseball, football theme. We had a slip n slide and water balloons, and all the kids had a great time. Jack had the best time and knew it was his specisl day. He keeps telling people "wawa slide, two" because he loved the water slide and he knows he's two. It's pretty cute.

Happy 2nd birthday Jackie boy and Happy 1st birthday Lydial!!!

Wow! Who knew that these little precious children would be born on the same day!
What a joyful day it was for us 2 years ago when John Marcus Berg came into this world. My little boy was 7 lbs. 6 oz. , 20 inches long, and was so handsome from the moment he came out. He has always been such a wonderful, happy, sweet little boy from day one. He is just easy to love, and is so affectionate to everyone. Jack will hug just about any person or animal he sees. He just loves life and everything about it. Jack teaches us a lot each day. Thank you God for our sweet little boy!!!!!!!! Happy 2nd Birthday, my love!!
And I'll never forget the phone call on his first birthday from Jen that she had a princess!!
Lydia is so beauitful and so full of life. I love seeing her smiley little face that lights up the room. I only wish I got to see her more. Happy 1st birthday Lydia - we love you!!!!

A few of our favorite things

1. Jumping my "Mama's bed" (although I get a little nervous that one might break an arm)
2. Finding creatures in the backyrad, (this little frog was Freddy's pet until Mommy forced him to let it go)
3. Fishing and/or reading about fish
4. Playing with Gemma girl
5. Riding bikes or trikes
6. "Ball/net" - Jack could eat, sleep and live with his ball and net ( this is a special net that he got for his birthday from Uncle Tim and Aunt Robin)

Tribute to Jake the dog

I am sad to find out that today our dear Jake passed away. Mom told me the sad news, and maybe she will elabotate on more details. He was a good dog, and especially good to Mom and Dad in his old age. He also loved the children and they loved him. At least my boys did. Thank you Jake for being a wonderful part of our family for the last 14 and a half years. You will be missed!!!!

Boy Bathroom

Our main floor bathroom is officially a 'boy bathroom'. The seat is always up, and I have to clean the seat almost everyday. The boys love to play in there too. Frederick makes bubbles and puts bubble mustaches on him and Jack. He also likes to bathe his animals in the bubbles. Jack also figured out how to make the bubbles too. But Jack doesn't know that you have to eventually turn off the water. The other day, I was doing the dishes and didn't hear the water running in the bathroom. Whenever I don't hear the boys, I know there is trouble. When I caught Jack in the bathroom, he was happily flooding the whole room. Luckily I caught it in time before it was a major problem.
Thank Heaven for little boys!!!!

Sister Cora of the Immaculate Heart

Kathleen Lomedico will henceforth go by the name of Sister Cora of the Immaculate Heart!!
I just saw the slide show online of her entrance into the novitiate. She looks beautiful and so happy! I am not sure where Cora comes from, no St. Cora, but I guess it means 'core' or center of the Immaculate Heart. She is right in the heart of Mary. It's a beautiful name. If you want to view the slidshow online, go to http://www.carmel-msh.org/Events.html and click on the Entrance into the novitiate.

My Laid back Girl

By the way, did I ever mention that I have the sweetest little baby girl in the world... She is so mellow amd easy. I finally have one with Tom's laid back personality (at least for now). She rarely cries and loves to just hang out. It is amazing! She is also an incredbile sleeper. She is a lot like her Daddy, which is a wonderful thing!! God knew what I could handle I guess. I am just so grateful for my little easy going princess.

Sister ?????

Today is a very special day for our dear Kathleen. Being the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, she will officialy becomes a novice today for the Carmelite Sisters of the most Sacred Heart of Jesus of Los Angeles. She will recieve her white veil (she is not in habit yet, she wears a blue 'uniform'), AND she recieves her new name that she will go by the rest of her life. I am dying to know what here new name is going to be!!!! Please say a prayer for her today!
Also, sorry I havent written in a couple weeks!

It has been warm and beautiful the past few days, and we try not to spend much time inside, because these few weeks in July are so precious in MN. I love the humidity and heat so much, and we only get it for a short time here. So the kids and I have been spending as much time enjoying the heat.
